Client Service Director

As our Client Services Director you are responsible for leading, inspiring and driving the Client Services team to build excellent long-term client relationships; to demonstrate in-depth understanding of the client’s business, brand and consumers; to provide excellent service and deliver outstanding creative and strategic product that exceeds the client’s expectations. 

You are responsible for account profitability, account growth and agency reputation; for getting and selling great work; and for constantly adding value to the client’s brand and business. You are alert to new business growth opportunities; you plan, develop and implement strategies for generating additional revenue opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Management

  • Become our client’s Trusted Advisor
  • Install a culture of client “business growers” instead of “brief takers”
  • Display entrepreneurial thinking by driving growth opportunities through the Client Service Development Plans
  • Display pro-activeness and passion by researching the challenges clients face and disseminating interesting pieces relevant to client / creative / strategy
  • Ensure optimal engagement with Strategy and Creative counterparts by building strong relationships
  • Assist in improving agency operations, recommending better workflow and processes to increase accountability, productivity and faster turnaround times

 People Management

  • Interact with peers and seniors in a collaborative and respectful manner
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with all internal departments and suppliers
  • Supportive role to other divisions during pressure periods
  • Advise team of whereabouts at all times
  • Loyal support of department / team with upfront and open communication

Appropriate & Timeous Retainer Management

  • Clear knowledge & understanding of client contract / retainer / in-scope / out-of-scope
  • Management of budget control, scope of work (SOW) and work in progress (WIP)
  • Resource management
  • Drive the ethos of cost control and income growth all the way through the teams


  • You have a solid brand and advertising communications background, with a profound understanding of digital media and technology
  • You are an adrenaline junkie with a solutions-driven approach
  • You have proven experience of building great proactive client relationships
  • You have a leadership style that demonstrates an ability to "lean into the work"
  • You have an exuding energy and drive
  • You have the ability to manage multiple projects and partners
  • You have a nose for new business opportunities and entrepreneurial flair
  • You have at least 2 years management experience in a similar role at Agency or  Client side
  • You have at least 10 years of experience in branding/advertising/marketing/media
  • You have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills at all levels – people, team and management
  • You demonstrate clear strategic thinking
  • You have superior presentation skills
  • You have exceptional Customer Relationship Management skills
  • Languages: Dutch or French native, with good knowledge of English
